About

Hiya im Vin, the webmaster around here! Ive slowly fallen in love with Tamagotchi throughout the years. The first one I REALLY got connected to was my purple Tamagotchi Pix. I had aways been acutely aware of Tamagotchi growing up but never owned one growing up poor. As I grew older, so did my love for virtual pets and my ability to obtain them! The door was really opened by my stepmom who bought my first 6. With the Pix, my love for them exploded. My Tamagotchi gave me a reason to wake up at a decent time consistently which greatly helped my depression. These little guys meant something to me, whenever I would accidentally let one die I would feel HORRIBLE. To the point where picking it back up again is hard from the guilt alone. So this blog is my little way to hopefully get me to keep up with my little guys.

Basic Care Guide
(P1-P2)

Lets start with our device!

Here we have three main buttons and a screen with 8 icons featured.
The buttons are as follows: Select, Confirm, Back. This is universal throughout all models and may also be reffered to as A, B, and C.
I'll cover the icons in a bit :]
For now you'll start with an egg,
Press any button to set the time. Press the left button to move the hours forward, the center button to move the minutes forward, and the right button to confirm. Now we wait for our friend to hatch! This normally takes around 5 minutes. Note that you can now press the center button to check the time.

Basics of care
The SCALE icon will be the one you check the most to see if your tama is hungry, needs care, or anything else! The first page will show age, 1 yr = 1 day, and weight. Your tama will gain weight every time it eats, and lose weight every time it plays a game. The second page will display your tamas discipline, a feature phased out in the newer models. This is a direct influence to what your tama will grow into! Third page will show hunger and fourth page will show happiness. (keep these hearts full!) There is also a hidden stat called CARE MISTAKES, it is a measure of how many times the user has FAILED to respond to a tamas needs in time. This will also directly influence into evolution or how close to death it is.

The HUNGER icon is how you feed your tama! The first option feeds your tama a meal which fills a hunger heart by one and the tamas weight by one. The second feeds the tama a snack which raises a happiess heart by one and the tamas weight by two. Eating an excessive amount of snacks in a short period of time will cause illness. Tamagotchi with a higher weight dont live as long as Tamagotchi with a lower weight.

The LIGHTBULB icon turns off and on the lights. When it gets to be bedtime, your Tamagotchi will cry out and its attention icon will light up, and then it is your responsibility to quickly turn the lights off for the night otherwise it will result in a care mistake.

The GAME icon will reward your tama with a happiness heart and will decrease its weight by one.

The MEDICINE icon can be used to cure sick Tamagotchi. When the tama becomes ill a skull will appear over their head. Growing old, eating too many snacks, and leaving too much poop on the screen at once, are all things that can cause sickness. (The WASH icon cleans poop!) This CAN lead to death and your little guy wont cry out when its sick so be sure to keep an eye on it.

The DISCIPLINE icon is used to punish your Tamagotchi for misbehavior. Your tama may, beep at your even though its full and happy, wont eat when its hungry, or wont play games when its not very happy. The owners manual reads, "If you neglect to discipline Tamagotchi when needed, it might grow up into an unattractive, bad mannered alien."

There are four stages your tama will evolve into. As a BABY, your Tamagotchi is most temperamental and demanding. Your baby is born five minutes after the clock is set and will spend 65 minutes as a baby, spending one hour awake and five minutes asleep. They will lose one hungry heart every three minutes and one happiness hard every four minutes this is the fastest rate your Tamagotchi will ever lose these. they're guaranteed to poop 15 minutes after they're born, get sick after 33 minutes, and fall asleep at 40 minutes. After their nap they'll wake up and poop a second time at 45 minutes, During the baby stage you can't gain any weight and will remain at 5 grams. After the tiresome 65 minutes of caring for a baby it will evolve into the less demanding TODDLER stage. The toddler stage is always Marutchi. Marutchi has a base weight of 10 so it can't go below 10 grams. It wakes up at 9am, sleeps at 8 pm, and after 48 hours it will evolve into the TEEN stage. This will be the first SPLIT evolution, after which is the ADULT stage.

Gene Mixing
(On the Paradise)

So what is gene mixing? The official Tamagotchi wesbite reads, "Gene mixing on the Tamagotchi Paradise works by passing down only two specific traits—eyes and body color—from the parents to the offspring, rather than combining the full body shapes of the two characters. The resulting baby will take on a new, standard body shape dictated by how you raise it."
Unlike in previous models, the mix function on the Paradise only passes down eyes and body color. However, care still HEAVILY affects your resulting tama. So the offspring will have a new body all together rather than them being a complete mix of the parents' features.

Many find this disappointing, especially compared to older units that spliced the parents together like little Pokemon fusions! I do have to agree, but im finding this new experiment is fun too!
The Tamagotchi's color can be changed anytime by feeding them certain color-changing juices, which unlock over time depending on the New Tamagotchi Planet's level. (Unlocked in the lab shop lvl 6,8, 9) This changes their color permanently and lasts the entire lifespan, as well as becoming the possible color gene it can pass on to the baby when breeding.
